Dollars for Decibels

"Dollars for Decibels" is a campaign to offset the cost of upgrading the audio-visual system in the sanctuary.

The initial upgrades include a new laser projector and sound system at a cost of approximately $28,000. The Trustees received a $2,000 grant from the Pearson Foundation and an $8,000 grant from the Golden Valley District, of which First UMC is a member church, to be utilized to upgrade the audio-visual system in the sanctuary. We have applied these grants and an additional $4,000 in undesignated memorial funds towards the costs of the projector and sound system upgrades. The Trustees borrowed $14,000 from Maquoketa State Bank to pay off the balance of the of the cost. The funds raised from this campaign will be used to pay down the loan.
