CHECK OUT W.O.W.
G.L.O.W. is our Youth Group program for students grades 6-12 on Wednesday nights. G.L.O.W. stands for Grow, Love, Outreach, and Worship.
Our purpose is to teach young people about Jesus and fulfill the mission he left for us in Matthew 28:16-20 -
"Then the eleven disciples left for Galilee, going to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshipped him - but some of them doubted! Jesus came and told his disciples, 'I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Song and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age."'
W.O.W. is our Children's program for students 4 years old through 5th grade on Wednesday nights. W.O.W. stands for Word on Wednesdays, and that's what we learn! In W.O.W., we begin young children's faith journeys by discovering all the Bible has to offer. We believe in building a child-like faith in all of our students to help them discover a relationship with God.
Mark 10:13-16 tells us:
"One day some parents brought their children to Jesus so he could touch and bless them. But the disciples scolded the parents for bothering him. When Jesus saw what was happening, he was angry with his disciples. He said to them, 'Let the children come to me. Don't stop them! For the Kingdom of God belongs to those who are like these Children. I tell you the truth, anyone who doesn't receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it.' Then he took the children in his arms and placed his hands on their heads and blessed them."
With a New Year, Comes New Updates!
During Fall of 2020, WOW and GLOW resumed lessons online and GLOW moved to in person which was great! In December, GLOW moved back to online learning through Facebook and Instagram Live for Advent. Early in November, WOW decided to pause WOW activities until the Summer because the online lessons weren't building relationships like we would've been in person, and we aren't ready to return in person with COVID numbers rising.
HOWEVER - Gabby will still be sending letters to our students every few weeks to stay in touch with them. Have your students watching for letters to arrive and encourage them to send letters back! If your student has not received a letter from Gabby please call the church office or email with your name, your child's name, and your current mailing address!
AS FOR GLOW -
Now that 2020 is over, we can start brand new! GLOW resumes in person on Wednesday, January 13th at 6pm. This semester we will be going through classic Old Testament stories such as Daniel and the Lion's Den, Esther: The Beautiful and Brave Queen, and more! Our first night back hold a HUGE announcement for GLOW that students won't want to miss!
